About Us

East Midlands Homecare (formerly Guardian Homecare) was established in 2001. Our office is based in Castle Donington but we cover a much larger area including Long Eaton, Sawley, Shardlow, Breaston, Draycott, Borrowash, Ockbrook, Risley, Sandiacre, Stapleford, Toton and Elvaston.

We are a family business and offer a personal service to our clients who we assist to live independant lives in the comfort of their own homes.

We have an excellent well structured team which means that from that initial meeting to discuss your needs, through to the scheduling of the service and the close monitoring of the service provided, someone is always there to answer your questions and solve any problems that arise.


About us - Long Eaton

Debbie Gray joined the company in 2006 after her daughter was born. Debbie graduated from University in 1996 with a First Class BSc (Hons) and then worked in IT as a developer, trainer and manager for 10 years working part time as a Care Assistant. In 2006 she decided to combine her management and training skills with her care experience and desire to help people to live fulfilled lives and take up the role of Care Manager with her sister Liz.


About us - Sandiacre

Liz Moore has worked for the company since it began in 2001 and therefore has a wealth of experience in all areas of the business. She qualified from University in 2003 with a BSc in Horse Management and is a fully qualified Riding Instructor. In 2006 she too decided to rise to the challenge of taking over the joint running of the family business with her sister.

Since 2006 the partnership has thrived with the company setting and achieving new goals in providing excellent staff training leading to the provision of an outstanding level of care in the local community.


About us - Sawley

Carla Cumberland joined the company in 2008 as a Care Assistant. It was soon clear that in addition to being an excellent Care Assistant she had the skills to move into a supervisory position. In 2009 she became supervisor and now heads up the community based supervisory team as our care coordinator. She works partly in the office and partly in the community and her team is responsible for training new staff, monitoring standards and keeping a regular contact with our service users and dealing with their concerns.

Carla is primarily responsible for the assessments needed when a new package starts so is the friendly face who will tailor each service users care plan to their needs.



Robert Masterson¬†joined the company in 2013 as a Care Worker and was promoted to Senior Carer in 2014. He works out in the community and has an excellent relationship with our Service Users. He is on hand for a chat when required and regularly reviews our service user’s Care Plans making changes whenever required.

Robert is responsible for the mentoring and supporting of new care workers out in the community. He also provides support to our team of carers on the job and over the phone.


We have over 25 fully trained and competent Care Workers. All are Criminal Records Bureau checked and have received intensive training in every aspect of their role. All our staff are monitored closely at all times as is our service so that we ensure the highest possible standard of care for our clients.
